Jeffrey Herlings will return to motocross competition this week.

We've already reported Herlings' return date last week, of course. However, it now appears that The Bullet will not only race at the third round of the Dutch Masters of Motocross at Rhenen on Thursday a Dutch national holiday (Ascension Day) but will also take a wildcard entry for the ADAC MX Masters this weekend.

Rhenen is a beautiful sand track and is perfect for Herlings to make his return and it's not a surprise he's chosen the circuit as part of his push to full fitness but to race again a few days later shows some degree of confidence in his recovery and perhaps reveals how much he's missed racing.

Here's what the ADAC MX Masters had to say about the event at Mggers:

Motocross fans in Mggers can not only look forward to the comeback of motocross star Herlings, who started his career in the ADAC MX Masters and won the ADAC MX Junior Cup in 2008.

Even the two-time champion Max Nagl is working on a comeback for the races in Mggers.

Nagl has been able to train again on his motorbike for a few days after recovering from a knee injury and would like to be at the starting line in Austria. "Should not something unforeseen happen, I will be able to drive in Mggers," assures the Bayer.

In addition to Herlings and Nagl another motocross star is planning the start in Mggers: Jeremy Seewer from Switzerland has the second race weekend of the ADAC MX Masters firmly in view and will decide after the World Championship race in France this weekend whether he starts in Austria.

All being well we could see him back in action in MXGP as soon as June 9 at the MXGP of Russia.

Keep it locked to TMX for more updates as we get them.
