VETERAN Scot Robbie Allan, at the ripe old age of 65, has made a superb attempt at this year's Dakar Rallye mounted on a Honda Europe CRX450.

It was Robbie's first attempt at the awesome north African desert race and he deserves tremendous respect for even thinking about tackling the world's toughest event.
However, after completing several awesome stages that saw many retirements from much younger, fitter men, Robbie's adventure sadly came to an end on stage seven during a horrific sand storm, which forced the organisers to reduce the length of the stage for safety reasons. Robbie succumbed to an asthma attack and just could not proceed.
As Robbie's wife Margaret said: ''He has been an inspiration to us all and we are all very proud of him.''
Well, Trials and Motocross News readers can do something to get Robbie's efforts offically recognised as he has been selected as one of seven candidates for the ‘Dakar 2007 Hero' in a poll being run on the  http://www.eurosport.com/ website and we are looking for YOUR
support to get Robbie that title.
Come on T+MX readers, log on NOW and vote for Robbie - he DESERVES to win the ‘Hero' poll!
