THE Egg Farm' is a good venue and good venues bring out the riders. So on Sunday just over 50 competitors turned out to contest the Vale of Towy MCC's B Grade Trial set out over the brooks and banks that followed the fast flowing stream at the Egg Farm'.

The eight sections were tough and, by South Wales standards, it was more Grade A than B, but the good sections were enjoyed by most despite the odd spell of ‘trout tickling' by some riders, and that was while just walking the sections!

Alan Lavis put in a superb ride for a clear win in the Clubman class. Sixteen of his 29 marks went on section five.

Sections five and six comprised steep slippery banks and took marks off most riders but Lavis was in top form today on par with the Experts. Alan Williams and Eddie Woolford tied on 46-marks for second spot, Williams earning the higher placing in the results. Dad Gerwyn went water-skiing on the first lap at section five but put it right on the following laps to finish four marks clear of young pretender, his son Ashley!
