ARM Farm, at Blisworth, played host to Northamp-ton Motorcyclist's Club's 81st running of the historic Wild and Woolly Scramble on Boxing Day, with Flyin' Ryan Griffiths taking the new course record for the amount of wins, with his eighth triumph on 17 laps completed.

With the weather set to mild and dry, a huge crowd of spectators turned out to cheer on the brave. With the circuit in surprisingly good condition, the focus of their attention were the four deep river crossings in the centre of the track.

Unlike most modern moto-cross events, the Woolly still adheres to its original race formula, and so, at precisely 11am, the flag dropped in silence to signal the start of the one hour race.

Holeshotting the first corner of the dead-engined start was Michael Stock, closely followed by Mark Elliott, who narrowly missed out on a victory last year following an epic battle with seven-time winner Ryan Griffiths.
