Scottish Six Days Trial

Big news this week is that regulations are now finally available for the 2020 Scottish Six Days Trial which will run from Monday to Friday, May 4-9 and based as usual in Fort William.

The delay in releasing regs this year has been that the organising Edinburgh club have been busy building an all-new website which is now up and running.

The new site is still named ssdt.org and to get your entry in just log on as usual and then click on Apply. This will bring up an online entry form which you simply fill in and send to the organisers.

Unfortunately, this will not guarantee you an entry as it is expected that once again demand will well exceed the 280 places available and that a ballot will be necessary.

Potential entrants and spectators should note that the Bank Holiday Monday, which traditionally accompanies the opening day of the Scottish has in 2020 been moved to FRIDAY, May 8, in commemoration of 75 years since VE (Victory in Europe) day.

The Scottish organising committee is already hard at work preparing for the 2020 event. And there could well be some shaking up of the routes, possibly taking into account the bank holiday date change.

More info on this front as news becomes available.

Anyway, no need to worry about that just now, all you have to do is log on to the website which is very much a work in progress at this stage and get that entry form on its way.

Yes, an eventual entry will all be down to the ballot result but remember, youve got to be in it to win it...!

As ever, well be keeping you up to date on the Scottish and also the Scottish Pre-65 Two Day which takes place on Friday/ Saturday, May 1/2.

The Pre-65 trial has its own website to visit which is pre65sottish.com
