Club Reports

The Worthing trials championship came to Sethern Farm, Dunsfold for round three of the Championship.

Section one went a cross two small logs and into a gully with a tree root exit between trees.

Tony Berryman had a silly error on his rst lap dropping astray dab, Chris Green and Joe Faulkner saw his mistake and went around clean.

Section two was across a gully followed by an uphill climb through the trees on the beginners route.

Daryl Till in his rst trial lost a three but he wasn't alone, Wayne Dewhurst came up the bank far too slow and he was soon losing traction and a ve. A nice clean ride came from class winner David Darbyshire.

Nearby number three was a number of really steep climbs across a valley. Danny Green was really enjoying this section and was on a three, Sean Staker had a dab with Tom Horsburgh having the perfect clean ride.

The Twin-shockers had no trouble with the fourth section, Dave Wells on his Suzuki sailed up clean followed by Nigel Wood. The seventh section was rather tight for the yellow route riders going across a small log with some turns around trees, Derek Craneld kept his concentration and rode it clean followed by his close friend and arch rival Jim Scott.

In the Youth C class Charlie White was the rider to beat with a clean, Jack Lunn and Grace Dark were happy to reach the ends cards with a three. Section eight was the hardest for the Experts, a big concrete block with a very tight approach.

Steve Berryman lost all of his marks on this section but still won the trial, Scott Dark conquered it on lap three with the ride of the day coming from Joel Manthorpe who had two cleans.

The Inter 50/50 riders rode the other direction but their hardest part of the section was two tractor tyres followed by a pile of rocks, Alan Aslett lost a one on the tyres but went clean on the rest. Jerry Manthorpe cleaned the hard parts but stalled his engine near the end losing himself the win.

Louis Wilson was the most spectacular in the class on his rear wheel Fuji style.

Section nine was not too bad for the Youth Beginners with Adam Manthorope, Albert Grant and Jack Dance all having perfect clean rides around the trees.

The last section was up the famous Sethern farm rockery, Marcus Faulkner cleaned it every lap but was off line on his fourth lap requiring as lack one. Graham Manthorpe was much more aggressive and ew up clean. Youth rider Lex Aslett got a bit twisted on his new Gasser and needed three big dabs to keep his machine in forward motion.

A really good event by the club, their next round is at Golding Barn raceway on June 19.
