KING'S Lynn's Ben Howard will be hoping to give local fans something to cheer about on Saturday evening when he races for the MX1 British title in the final round of the Maxxis British Outdoor Supercross Championship.

Arriving at the Norfolk Arena the Honda rider ‘enjoys' a narrow one point advantage over Kawasaki-mounted Paul Smith, with Suffolk's Will Kerry also in the hunt just one further point adrift.

It promises to be a thrilling climax to the new outdoor supercross championship as the three riders lock horns around the purpose-built track in the middle of the speedway oval. And with qualifying heats and a final to negotiate there is plenty of opportunity for anyone of these three riders to make the headlines.

The MX2 class is no less competitive but it would take a brave man to bet against rising welsh star Ashley Greedy lifting his second national crown this year.

The 16-year-old PAR Honda team rider has already secured the British Youth Premier championship this season and after a breathtaking display at the opening supercross round two weeks ago he is odds on to add to his already impressive CV.

One slip up however will let in Owen Delaney and Steve Bixby who raced wheel to wheel for the full 15 lap final at the last round and were only separated by a bike's length at the chequered flag.

Practice gets underway at 3pm. There will be a pre-race parade of all the riders at 6.30pm, with the first race due off the line at 7pm. Admission is £10.00, concessions £7.00, Juniors (12 – 15-year-olds) £4.00, and children under 11-years-old free.
