Ride XC swings into action again this weekend February 19/20, as round two of the Grand Northern X-Country Championship heads to Lings Farm, Bishop Burton, Beverley, East Yorkshire.

This venue was last used around five years ago and the team has been working hard behind the scenes to re-introduce it into its 12-round championship series.

The course will be of a similar nature to Langtoft with a lap of around ten-minutes of open flowing stubble fields and should provide enjoyable for all abilities and perfect for any newcomers to the XC scene.

With February offering a mixed bag of weather, Lings Farm was chosen by the team for its excellent all-weather potential. Saturday night camping is welcome at this event.

The weekend kicks off on Saturday, February 19, with an open practice day which is aimed at newcomers to the sport. This offers the opportunity to go along and get a taste of XC riding in a fun and relaxed atmosphere and will begin to prepare riders for XC competition.

The team is always on hand and happy to answer any questions about cross country events. This starts at 11am and finishes at 4pm and can be booked on the Ride-XC website or simply turn up and pay on the day.

Sunday's action gets underway with the youth racers who will be keen to rectify any mistakes made at Langtoft. The Youth Senior B and Juniors will begin at 8.30am for 1.5-hours. The Adult Solo open race is scheduled to kick off at 10.30am for 2.5-hours. The Quad class will end the days proceedings with two-hours of four-wheel cross-country action scheduled to start at 1.30pm. There will be trophies awarded down to third place in each class and championship points awarded to all riders.

Anyone wishing enter must do so through the website using paypal or call 07973-374147 and book-in as soon as possible.
