A Good Friday for Thorpe

GREAT racing, great organisation, super weather and a bumper crowd present to witness two former English World Motocross Champions in action - those were the ingredients which made the annual Good Friday Mike Brown Memorial Motocross another roaring success at Rushmead Race Park.

Topping the bill at the Marshfield MXC event was triple World king Dave Thorpe, joined by former World 250cc champion, Neil Hudson. The only disappointment was that the third English motocross legend Graham Noyce was a non-starter. However, the large crowd was still able to witness a Thorpe master-class performance as a mixture of past and present stars, which also included former GP riders Brian Wheeler and Lee King, chased him.
In the three races held which brings together friends and family in memory of Mike Brown, the immaculate Thorpe won the opening two clashes before eventually being defeated by a determined young-gun Tom Brown in the final moto.
