De Dycker Lands a double Max

REIGNING British MX1 champion Ken De Dycker and Red Bull KTM's MX2 starlet Tommy Searle both claimed overall honours at round two of the Maxxis British Motocross Championship at Landrake on Sunday.
It was the fans who were really the big winners atthe fast and spectacular Cornish circuit as the MX2 championship raceserupted into a series of brilliant, breathless battles for supremacythat produced some of the best racing seen on the domestic circuit inrecent memory.
A cold, drab day greeted the championship ridersto a well groomed, if a little too one-lined Landrake circuit, but theaction on track was far from dull and the MX2 class produced a pair ofeventful, incredibly exciting motos that saw numerous frantic battlesright through the field and the eventual podium trio of Searle,spectacular moto one winner Tom Church, and new championship leaderShaun Simpson separated by just one point.
Not to be out done, the MX1 boys produced abarnstormer of their own in Moto two with De Dycker overcoming twosmall falls to battle back past fellow podium men Billy MacKenzie andthe determined Gordon Crockard to take a late race win and the double.
And if the fans hadn't gotten enough action fortheir 20 already, the MXY2 Youth support class proved to be a hugesuccess in its first ever running with Isle of Man charger AlexRockwell taking the overall from the Team Green duo of Lewis King andJosh Waterman.
It was thrilling stuff that had the crowd on edgeall day, running from one side of the fence to the other to keepabreast of the action a rare sight indeed.
